These black and red colored stamps were printed in honor of the 91st birthday of General Douglas MacArthur.
The stamp features a beautiful central portrait of "THE GENERAL OF THE ARMIES."
Arkansas born and 1903 United States Military Academy at West Point graduate, General MacArthur, known for leaving the Corregidor, Philippines in 1942 and made his famous promise, "I shall return."
A World War II Commander, General MacArthur also served as the Military Governor of Japan during WWII as well as serving as Commander of the United Nation forces during the Korean War.
Stamps are AUTOGRAPHED by American Artist and Pratt Institute graduate, PAUL CALLE, a stamp designer for the United States and the sole artist hired by NASA to cover the astronauts of Apollo 11.
Calle's artwork and sketches have been displayed at the National Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and more.
