$1 Original Series Ace The Kansas Valley National Bank Topeka, KS Ch# 1660 RARE 4 KNOWN PMG VG 10

+

This scarce Ace is an unlikely survivor as it comes from an early Topeka bank that opened its doors in August of 1866 and by July of 1873 changed its title to The First National. Five months later, in December of 1873 it was in receivership. By 1913, only $725 remained outstanding, a paltry sum that rarely results in any survivors, let alone four, all with the first title. A survivor with the second title is unlikely as only 98 sheets of $10-$10-$10-$20 were issued. Despite some repairs, this is such a rare opportunity to acqiure the note, a serious collector is too wise to be bothered as the finest known of the quartet is a PMG 25 Net with "restorations."  It is an attractive note for the grade with strong pen signatures and dark inks. It's last public appearance was in August 2011 when it realized $3450 in a Stacks Bowers Sale.

Whether it's groceries, houses, cars, or paper money the prices we paid for things in 2011 have increased over the last 14 years; however, at Executive Currency we're thrilled to pass along that 2011 price with free shipping if you order directly from us.

Enjoy what quite literally may be a 'once in a lifetime opportunity.'
