Philippines Treasury Certificate 5 Pesos 1936 (ND 1944) Pick 83b "U.S.A. War Department Issue" 

Printed by the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing in 1944 using the original 1936 plates, this scarce U.S. War Department Issue was produced to support the Allied liberation of the Philippines during World War II. Rather than being released for normal circulation, these notes were supplied for military operations and use by U.S. forces and Filipino resistance units as they worked to restore a stable monetary system in Japanese-occupied territory. Today, they are prized as tangible artifacts of both numismatic and military history.
