$5 1929-II Barnett National Bank of DeLand, FL Low Fancy SERIAL # 3 A000003 PMG Ch Unc 64

+

This institution was an offshoot of the Barnett NB of Jacksonville and was owned in its entirety by that bank. Unlike many other states, Florida law did not allow branch banking by nationally chartered institutions, so a new charter had to be obtained for the DeLand operation, which was organized with its own board of directors as though it was an independent entity. This offering from here is a bright, well embossed $5 bearing low serial number A000003. A very small ink spot on the back has been noted by PMG. This exact note was previously sold by Stacks Bowers in 2021 where it realized $2,040. Have it delivered for even less, today.
