$1 1935-A Hawaii - WWII Emergency Issue
A historic piece of WWII currency, this $1 1935-A Hawaii note was issued after the attack on Pearl Harbor as part of a special emergency series. These notes feature brown seals and overprints, and were created so that—if the islands fell to enemy forces—the U.S. government could quickly declare them worthless to protect mainland currency reserves.
This example grades Very Fine, showing honest handling from circulation while retaining strong detaill. There is a contemporary annotation on the face reading, "Julia From Al" in light grey to the left of the portrait.
A great addition for collectors of WWII history, emergency issues, or classic small-size notes.
